Basic First Aid Level Approximately 2-2.5 hours
Dress Comfortably
Recognized Certification Period * Up to 2 years *

Cost: $35

Individuals who require or desire elementary first aid knowledge and skills with a focus on adults, children, or both; including:

Emergency response teams in business and industry
School bus drivers
Adult residential care personnel
Child care workers
Teachers
Parents
Babysitters

All of our classes include HANDS ON practice, lecture and video. CPR and First Aid classes are OSHA compliant. We offer training for all workplaces such as: Public and Charter Schools, Construction companies, Health Clubs, Community groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Non Profit organizations and many more. Discounts are available for Non-Profit organizations, Schools, Students and Teachers for Credentialing programs and large groups.

NOTES:

Persons with Upper Respiratory Infections, Dental Surgery, or Cold Sores should not take this course.
Physically Strenuous: Students with Cardiac or Respiratory conditions should consult with their physician.

Today, N.Y. Sen. Martin Golden (R-NY) announced that we have received a Grant totaling $43,000. The funding will allow the department to purchase an All-Terrain Vehicle to be used to fight fires and emergency rescues.

SENATOR GOLDEN SECURES A $43,000 GRANT FOR A NEW EMERGENCY FIRE RESCUE VEHICLE FOR THE GERRITSEN BEACH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) this weekend attended the 90th Anniversary Celebration of the Gerritsen Beach Volunteer Fire Department where he swore in the officers and surprised the crowd with an announcement of a new emergency fire rescue vehicle to commemorate the milestone. Senator Golden announced that he has secured a grant in the amount of$43,000 to purchase a new emergency fire vehicle, sometimes referred to as an “Gator”, to assist the Department in rescue efforts.

Senator Marty Golden stated, “I am proud to have been able to secure this grant to support the operations of the Gerritsen Beach Volunteer Fire Department. As we celebrate their 90 years of service, this new rescue vehicle will further their ability to keep the community and the residents safe. On behalf of a grateful neighborhood, please know that the volunteer service of the crew members is recognized and applauded today.”

John Czap, Chief of the Department of the Gerritsen Beach Volunteer Fire Department stated, “This is fantastic and will really help the community. Now, we will have much better access to the parkland on the East side of Gerritsen Avenue. We will be able to get to areas where we could not have previously so to provide fire and emergency medical care.” Along with the driver and passenger, the vehicle is designed to carry one patient, one EMS attendant, plus assorted medical and rescue equipment.

Description:

Our upcoming fall EMT course is scheduled to begin Thursday October 18, 2012. The cost of the course is $950. There is a non-refundable deposit of $100 in order to hold your seat. Be aware that seats are limited so if you are interested do not delay.

The course will take place:
43 Seba Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11229

Monday and Thursday from 7:00pm – 10:30pm
One Sunday a Month 9:00am-5:00pm

The text book is: Emergency Care 12th Edition, a.k.a. Brady Book 12th Edition, published by Pearson. You can find a copy on Amazon be sure to look at all of the options when purchasing.

2/17/13 Is the last scheduled class
2/18/13 is the scheduled in house final
3/21/13 is the scheduled state final

$425 due at first day of class
$425 due within thirty days
